PURPOSE

To lead and manage the Terminal Asset Maintenance Department, ensuring the highest level of maintenance, readiness, and repair to maintain the operational visibility of the terminal facility and all operations handling equipment.

Provides input for effective operating strategies for the terminal and oversees development of local policies and procedures for the Asset Maintenance department.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Head of Asset Maintenance is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Terminal's assets to maximize their value and efficiency. This role encompasses managing asset performance, controlling costs, and ensuring proper maintenance to extend the lifespan and reliability of assets. The Head of Asset Maintenance will identify and mitigate risks, develop strategic plans for asset acquisition and utilization, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, this position involves handling warehouse and inventory management, as well as making investment decisions related to new assets, upgrades, or disposals. Continuous improvement through innovation and process enhancements is a key focus, with the ultimate goal of supporting the Terminal's strategic objectives by maximizing asset value while minimizing costs and risks. In terms of safety, the Head of Asset Maintenance must ensure that all functional areas comply with terminal HSSE protocols and guidelines. This includes leading by example to ensure the safety of all technical personnel working within the terminal and maintaining all equipment and facilities according to local legislation and COMPANY's global standards. Performance metrics are crucial, as the Head of Asset Maintenance must ensure that all preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance of terminal equipment is performed efficiently, and that KPIs for equipment availability, reliability, and cost are met. Strategically, the Head of Asset Maintenance will define and develop maintenance strategies for facilities and equipment, ensuring they meet the minimum requirements specified by Global Asset Maintenance. This role also involves managing asset integrity, ensuring that all equipment and plants under management are maintained with appropriate preventive, predictive, and emergency repairs. A risk-based approach to maintenance is essential, considering the compounded risks associated with aging and new assets. Resource management is another critical aspect of this role, requiring collaboration with various departments to ensure efficient use of the team and accurate planning and scheduling of work.

The Head of Asset Maintenance will also manage contracts for outsourcing services as needed. Leadership is key, as this position involves developing the skills and competencies of team members while considering succession planning and career progression. Cost management is vital, with responsibilities including developing budgets for terminal asset management and proactively tracking maintenance costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction. Overall, the Head of Asset Maintenance plays a pivotal role in maintaining a clean and safe working environment while promoting good working relationships between internal and external stakeholders.

Planning Supervisor

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

(IPE Factor: Knowledge)

  • The position requires an expertise to manage teams through well-developed skills and knowledge of technical and associated functions.
  • Minimum university degree in marine engineering, mechanical, or civil engineering or related filed. Degree in Management, Business or related is considered an asset.
  • 7 to 10 years’ experience in related position in the material handling, Logistics, or Transportation industry.
  • Superior working knowledge of Terminal Maintenance (Port) practices and principles. Specific working knowledge of support equipment, cranes, and power generation is required.
  • The position requires good experience in civil engineering work, design, and oversee construction and maintenance such as building structures, facilities and paving, ect….
  • Extensive Knowledge of generale HSSE issues and familiarity with maritime codes.
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, basic financial related matters, and reporting against financial objectives.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills, as well as excellent managerial skills, including planning, organizing and directing work.
  • Sufficient knowledge of IT and CAD Systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proven interpersonal and people Management skills.
